The newest track from Freekbass, "The Maze", is a team-up with Sammi Garett, Bump Assembly bandmate, and member of Funk Powerhouse, Turkuaz!

"We started with a track that I had been working on in the studio for a bit. The groove had an 80s vibe, and felt like it needed to go full-fledged Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam meets Sheila E.,” Freek explained. He says he knew that Garett would have the perfect voice for this track. Garett says the lyrics were inspired by her artistic interpretation of the 1986 movie-fantasy, "Labyrinth" (David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly), describing it as one of her favorite movies of all time.
